Volunteers On Call partners in Kenya with an organization
called Staff
of Hope. We partner with them to work on an on-going
project with Massai tribe in Kenya who need help with
the need for irrigation systems, seeds, farming needs,
school building and child sponsorship.
Our goal in Kenya is to build relationships of trust
that honor the traditions of the community while working
towards helping the community with volunteers and
financial support. Supplying water in dry areas creates
opportunities for peoples’ physical needs and
empower the people on multiple levels.
Our focus will be on the following three major areas:
Water Project—Aid in creating water
systems that provide better water flow an availability
to the community of Kimana.
Education and Literacy—Keeping children
in school and promoting literacy especially among
women. Research has shown that in third world countries
the birth rate among educated women has decreased
resulting in better care of children and a reduction
in poverty.
The approximate cost of our trips to Kenya is $5,500.
