Through the Housing Authority of Norwalk, volunteers
identified a needy individual. By securing donations
of paint, brushes, and cleaning supplies the organization
helped refurbish the home of an ill and bedridden
woman in her fifties. She was disabled and had no
family to support her. Her condition and illness prevented
her from maintaining a safe environment in her home.
With volunteers composed of adults, youth and children,
led by VOC, Inc. founder, they went to work to give
this woman the gift of love. Within hours, her home
was transformed from an environment of disrepair to
a residence that is clean and easy to get around.
Walls were painted, trash was discarded, soiled carpeting
was disposed, and carpentry was repaired. Furniture
was rearranged to make things accessible to her medical
equipment.
